We woke up. We both had a shocking night. I hardly slept because I was worried that I would roll over and push out one of the legs of mom’s bed and she would crash down on top of me.
It was still raining. Lucky for us we had packed away the gazebo before the rain started. We headed out of Leisure view around 10:15 to head down to Mbashee – The haven. This was going to be such an interesting place. Can’t wait to get there. The last time we tried, things went horribly wrong. I blew a fuse in the Mazda van, we could not charge any devices and we got horribly lost. And we headed home early as we could not be driving around without any form of communication and maps.
We drove along N2 via Mount Ayliff. Hectic rainy, misty over cast weather for most of the way.
We had so far to travel that I was starting to get worried that we might not get to Mbashee on time. There was a nature reserve that we were going to have to enter and we had to be there on or before 18:00 tonight. How are we going to get there on time?
I phoned ahead and spoke to Glynn and he was sure we would get there on time. Told us to phone after 17:30 and he will make a plan for us. I was now slightly relieved that things were improving.
The road we were travelling on was really a good gravel road. We were able to drive at a good 100km. The areas we were “flying” through was really very pretty.
We arrived at 17:59 with one minute to go. What a relief we made it. Had a awesome home cooked dinner, met Sue and Glynn and we crashed. Saw the strobes of light from lighthouse. Made me feel good that we were finally here. Totally exhausted. Climbed into bed and we were gone for the night.
